Dan Zilber to step down as FBi Radio’s General Manager of Music - MusicNSW

FBi Radio has announced that their General Manager Dan Zilber will be leaving FBi Radio after he launches a new electronic and dance project, FBi Click on digital radio. Dan Zilber has been with the station for over a decade.

According to a press release put out today, Managing Director Clare Holland stated, “Dan has an incredible set of ears, he’s extremely strategic and he has a deep and genuine passion for supporting artists and Sydney music. He has so much integrity and he understands the value of building and supporting communities. I cannot articulate how lucky FBi has been to have Dan here since launch. He’ll be sorely missed but can feel assured that he’s made a lasting impact on FBi that will live on for many years to come. In short he’s a deadset legend”.

Zilber stated “I’ve been the luckiest guy in the Australian music industry every day for more than 10 years. It’s been such an honour to work with the amazing staff and volunteers that the station attracts and a privilege to support the musicians and broader industry who contribute so much to the enjoyment of our lives. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past decade and will miss the people and the station immensely.

It’s engrained in FBi Radio’s DNA to take risks and try new things. Digital radio offers a chance for FBi to continue to be forward thinking and explore new sounds. We’ve always been committed to electronic and dance music, and the demand from our audience continues to grow. We’ve pulled together some of the best Sydney crews, we’re putting them at the helm and I’m excited to see the results.”

FBi Radio President, Cass Wilkinson added “11 years ago we took a risk and asked a 24 year old to tell us what the future of Sydney would sound like. A decade on, Dan Zilber’s influence has driven Australian music’s growing interest in our own backyard. We are so proud of him and forever grateful for his immense contribution to FBi. He’s a true visionary and it’s for this reason that we’re thrilled that we’ve been able to set his sights on FBi’s future one more time.”

FBi Click will launch in June 2014. They will be releasing more details soon.
