Since the arrival of streaming services such as Rdio and Spotify into Australia this year, it seems the Australian Recording Industry Association is joining the movement as they are currently working on their own weekly streaming chart.
This comes soon after the announcement that ARIA will also have it’s own app within Spotify, which will allow users to access the ARIA charts each week.
ARIA chief exec Dan Rosen told The Music Network:
“We are working with the providers to get the data necessary to begin producing a weekly Streaming Chart. As the year progresses, we look forward to an official streaming chart joining our extensive list of weekly ARIA charts.”
Launch dates for both are yet to be announced, but watch this space as we keep you up to date!
