Sounds Australia appoints new Export Music Producer - MusicNSW

Sounds Australia, Australia’s national export initiative has just announced their appointment of new Export Music Producer Glenn Dickie.

Dickie will be filling the role with a wealth of experience behind him including the 11 years he worked with Stage Mothers (the founders of The Aussie BBQ), his 13 years at EMI Music Australia and the knowledge he has received from working in many areas of the record business including promotions, marketing and A & R.

Dickie has also worked closely with international acts Lily Allen and Katy Perry, and was behind the local signings of acts Jet, Oh Mercy, 360 and Grey Ghost to name a few. On top of this Dickie comes with 12 years experience in community radio and is even a musician-a drummer for The Goldhearted!

“It feels like a natural progression for me to move into this role,” said Dickie. “I’m really proud of what Mary Mihelakos and I have created with the Aussie BBQ and this new position allows me to work even closer on creating international opportunities for Australia’s thriving contemporary music scene.”

This comes soon after the recent news of Dr Ianto Ware being appointed as National Live Music Coordinator, and Alicia Kish (of Ivy League Records) has just commenced this week as Associate Producer, stepping in for Esti Zilber whilst she is on maternity leave. Milly Millgate has been promoted to the position of Executive Producer.

“I couldn’t be more excited about the respective skills and expertise that Glenn, Ianto and Alicia bring to Sounds Australia and what this will mean in terms of us providing an expanded suite for serves for artists and music businesses alike,” said Millie. “The growth of Sounds Australia is testament to the belief and investment both government and industry has made to date and I am truly inspired by the future and the opportunities that lay ahead.”
