Mullum Music Festival Announces Mentorship Winners - MusicNSW

Mullum Music Festival offered another youth mentorship for young and aspiring artists a few months ago, and the winners have been announced!

The mentorship has been running for the past three years, and has kick-started many careers for young artists, 19 years and under.

1) MULLUM MUSIC FESTIVAL YOUTH MENTORSHIP WINNERS

Singer/Songwriter:  Winner: Asha Jefferies (Brisbane)  |  Mentored by CAITLIN PARK
Band: Winner: Function (Byron Bay)  |  Mentored by SKIPPING GIRL VINEGAR 
Vocal: Winner: Emmuna Aloni (Mullumbimby)  |  Mentored by ALUKA
Under 15’s: Winner: Mali Biggin (Ewingsdale)  |  Mentored by MR CASSIDY
The Youth Mentorship program teams up young musicians with established artists on the festival bill. Each mentor selected the winner for their category. Winners get a rehearsal session with their mentor, a 20 min performance at the festival (with their mentor backstage) and backstage passes to watch their mentor perform. They also get information sessions and advice from industry professionals throughout the year.

2) PLAY MULLUM & THE FALLS BYRON SONGWRITING COMPETITION
NSW North Coast musician Bill Jacobi has won the ‘Hitting the Road’ songwriting competition with his song ‘Ride’ and will be performing at Mullum Music Festival and The Falls Music & Arts Festival Byron.
