The International Space Time Concerto Competition - MusicNSW

Organisers waive competition entry fee to make it more accessible to entrants nation wide.

The 2012 International Space Time Concerto Competition is a competition open to students or alumni of any Australian tertiary institution who have an interest in musicianship or cutting edge creativity.

The competition is a celebration of collaboration, creativity and the concerto, with a prize of $50, 000 awarded to the winning musician.

This year it will involve two categories-historical and innovative, and is seeking classical instrumentalists, orchestral players, jazz, contemporary bands, electronic and new media artists.

The competition is hoping to encourage unique collaborations and innovative new works by composers, performers, producers, AV/mixing engineers.

6 finalists will have the opportunity to perform with an accompanying orchestra at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music Concert Hall in late 2012.  Another 2 finalists will be able to experience what it’s like to be accompanied by an international internet-linked ensemble spanning five countries.

Entries for The International Space Time Concerto Competition will be accepted from May 1 until July 1.
