Indent reveals headliner for 2013 all ages regional tour - MusicNSW

Following on from the success of last year’s Indent Tour starring jungle-pop quintet Jinja Safari, Indent is excited to announce that critically acclaimed Sydney hip hop duo Spit Syndicate will be headlining the 2013 regional all-ages tour.

This year the Indent Tour will be coming to Maitland, Taree, Wagga Wagga, Jindabyne and Albury from 22 November – 1 December.

Known for their explosive and highly energetic live shows, Spit Syndicate – who will be touring with third member DJ Joyride – kicked off their musical journey back in 2008 when they signed to Australia’s biggest hip hop label Obese Records, through which they released their debut LP Towards the Light. This album landed the duo an ARIA nomination, and paved the way for four national tours.  With the recent success of their groundbreaking 2013 album release Sunday Gentlemen, Spit Syndicate have gone from strength to strength, never failing to impress their excited and dedicated fan base.

One half of the duo, Nick Lupi says, “We’re excited to be a part of this tour, not only because it will take us to towns where we’ve never headlined shows before, but mainly because it involves performing all-ages shows in regional areas – which are two groups of people who tend to miss out a lot of gigs.”

Spit Syndicate are no strangers to the touring circuit – they are embarking on their Beauty in the Bricks national tour this coming October/November, before getting ready to jump on the road with the Indent team to play five all-ages, drug and alcohol free shows in regional areas across NSW.

Now in it’s fourth year, the annual Indent Tour acts as a skills development opportunity for young people in regional NSW. Indent works directly with teams of young people aged 12-25 in each region to stage each show of the tour.

“…this tour is more than about performing a few shows, it’s about getting young people involved in the entire process of planning, promoting and pulling off a successful event” says Lupi.

The tour is funded and facilitated by Indent, with young people actively involved in the event planning process throughout the year. The teams will walk away with practical and transferable skills in event management, music business and live performance through working alongside leading industry professionals.

Local show supports will be announced in October. For more details on the Indent Tour head to http://www.indent.net.au
