Parliament investigates high iTunes prices - MusicNSW

Australian prices for Apple’s Itunes are higher than those overseas. The House of Representatives is now doing an official inquiry later this year into technological companies who sell digital content who will now have to answer up as to why their music downloads are so expensive!

Consumer research group Choice will be involved in the inquiry after discovering that Australians are at times paying double the price on Australian iTunes compared to the US iTunes.

“We will welcome the opportunity to be involved in the inquiry and hope it will pressure importers, distributors and retailers to pass on some of the savings they are enjoying thanks to the strong Australian dollar,” Choice said.
