You have until July 2 to tell the NSW Government your thoughts on Sydney’s lockout laws - MusicNSW
New & the Now 2 by LAZYBONES

With the NSW Government's lockout review underway, now's your chance to tell the Parliament of NSW how the laws have impacted Sydney's nightlife!

The Parliament of NSW has established a select committee to lead an inquiry into Sydney's night-time economy, specifically the lockout laws, following the NSW Government's announcement in May.

"Sydney remains one of the world's leading cities and we want to make sure that residents and visitors can enjoy all that Sydney has to offer," said the Hon Natalie Ward MLC, Committee Chair.

"We know there are strong feelings on both sides of this debate, and we are hoping to hear from as many people and organisations as possible. We would welcome submissions from anyone with an interest in this issue and will be holding public hearings in August."

Making your submission

Your submission can be as simple or as in-depth as you like –but the main thing is to tell the NSW Government about the impact the lockout laws have had on you or your business. This could be the impact the laws have had on your career as a musician, or simply the impacts on the way you go out in Sydney at night.

You can also have a read of the inquiry's Terms of Reference for an idea of what the committee will be taking into consideration.

If you have any questions about this process, feel free to give the MusicNSW office a call.

Make your submission now!

The closing date for submissions to the inquiry is Tuesday, 2 July.
