Sound Advice - Tales from the Road
Are you coming to the Tamworth Country Music Festival? Don't miss the Country Music Futures Forum on 21 & 22 January.

As part of the Forum, we are hosting Sound Advice: Tales from the Road, where you can hear from some of NSW’s most prolific touring artists. Join Julz & Leesa from Hussy Hicks, Laura & Tyson from Sunday Lemonade & Matt Johnston of Magpie Diaries & Dashville, who’ll spill on how they get it done - from different tour models and finding the best tour routes, to using tours to promote new music, finding your audience, and making touring sustainable, rewarding and fun.

The Country Music Futures Forum, part of the Tamworth Country Music Festival, brings together artists and industry professionals of all levels to share expertise and insights. From budding musicians to established artists, gain valuable knowledge on songwriting, gig planning, mental health prevention, education & training programs and exporting Country music, all under one roof.

HUSSY HICKS

Julz Parker & Leesa Gentz

Known for their killer live shows, Hussy Hicks straddle the lines between folk, blues, country, rock and roots, and have earned themselves a mighty reputation, growing from festival openers to favourites at the biggest blues, roots, folk and country festivals in Australia, the USA and across Europe, while selling out their own tours across the three continents.

Sunday Lemonade

Sunday Lemonade

Laura Kirkup & Tyson Richardson

Opting for life in a campervan, Tyson and Loz are no strangers to late night drives, road side rest stops and losing track of exactly which town they're walking through. For almost 7 years, Sunday Lemonade have been chasing the white lines of the road, bypassing cities where possible to spread their infectious rom-com story, high energy show and optimistic nature.

Matt Johnston

Magpie Diaries & Dashville

Matt Johnston

Over 20+ years, Matt Johnston has nurtured a standout community around Dashville, his family bushland property that hosts The Gum Ball, Dashville Skyline, Thrashville and more. The beautiful spot up towards the Hunter Valley has become a home for many artists that Matt plays with, including his own project Magpie Diaries, and he and the crew can often be seen piling into the Dashville van to take their show on the road.
