Tone may be closing down, but another fantastic Sydney music venue is just about to open. Overlooking the city’s creative hub, Bourke Street’s iconic Kinselas has been host to some of the most legendary artists and performances, including Beastie Boys, The Lemonheads and Public Enemy.

Young and emerging artists from across Australia are encouraged to make their artistic match and apply for JUMP 2012, with applications opening today. As the Australia Council’s national mentoring program for young and emerging artists, JUMP identifies and promotes excellence in artistic practice for artists aged 18 – 30 who are in the first five years

The Wollongong music scene has a reputation for supporting progressive causes and issues. Now local bands and musicians are rallying together to support Rock the Vote Wollongong!, a campaign to promote progressive outcomes at the local government elections in September 2011 and they’ve just released this short doco outlining the campaign for this year!
