The Abyss are Sydney based dubstep producers Boot & Sook. They’ve been smashing up dancefloors along the east coast for several years with their own brand of dark teched out cyberfunk and with a swag of new tunes as well as dubs from some of the filthiest producers in the business The Abyss have permanently opened the portal to the bass nexus. They are also playing Sound Summit 2009

(Tim) Big Day Out 96 – namely Rage Against The Machine

2. What’d you learn from them?
(Tim) Knowledge through music

3. Got any pre-gig rituals?
Nothing particularly exciting. Making sure tracks are able to hold up on a soundsystem, burning up a few cds and a few beers. That’s before we get to the human sacrifices.
4. What do you think the most important issue effecting artists in NSW is today?
Moneygeddon and ridiculously backwards club licensing laws enforced by aggressive and antagonistic police with way too much power.
5. If you weren’t a musician what do you reckon you’d be doing?
Rotting in the ground most likely. Or doing a barrel roll.
