In conjunction with the Arts Northern Rivers Creative Industries Brokers Project, music brokers Claire McGarry and Sam Fell are pleased to announce their first Professional Development and Networking Event, to be held on Wednesday the 3rd of November, at the Mullumbimby Civic Hall.
“The event is open to everyone involved in the Northern Rivers music industry. There are a lot of people interested in pursuing a career in music in the region and this event will serve as a place to meet, network and form new business relationships,” says Melia Naughton, local musician with Scarlett Affection and Creative Industries Project Co-ordinator for Arts Northern Rivers.
The event will aim to identify both strengths and weaknesses within the region, as well as opportunities and threats for those working within the industry.
The first session for the day will be a panel discussion featuring music industry experts, with particular emphasis on working within the Northern Rivers region. The afternoon session will be a break out workshop session, where attendees will have the opportunity to discuss, debate and share knowledge in smaller groups.
Sally McPherson, formerly of Chugg Entertainment and General Manager of East Coast Blues and Roots festival, will mediate the panel. Speakers will include:
Leigh Treweek – National Marketing Director for Street Press Australia: Inpress (Melb), The Drum Media (Syd & Perth), Time Off (Bris)
