The Blacktown Arts Centre is currently accepting applications for their 2013 Performing Arts Residency Program. This program strives to offer professional development opportunities for individual or small groups of artists.
The residency program is split into two separate groups, the Dawson Mall Program and the Cross Cultural Collaboration.
The Dawson Mall Program seeks to animate Dawson Mall in Mount Druitt, Blacktown through engaging the community in music and dance. Successful applicants will be partnering with community members to create a short series of music and dance performances for a lunchtime audience.
The Cross Cultural Collaboration focuses on the development of new work through engaging in art across cultures. Artist duos or small groups are encouraged to apply for this particular program. Successful applicants will be paired with an industry mentor and will have access to the performance studio for the duration of their residency, which will be determined based on the project.
Applications are due August 31st, so apply now!
