Introduction

Written a new tune and ready to record? Work your way through our downloadable checklist to make sure you cover the essentials across:

  • Pre-production
  • Production
  • Post-Production
  • Mixing
  • Mastering

Also, check out our Recording Tracking Board template to make keeping notes on your progress a breeze in the studio.

What is a Record Tracking Board?

In professional studios, it’s a visual tool - often a whiteboard - where you list all the songs in a project and the elements you need to record for each track (vocals, guitars, drums, synths, backing vocals, etc.). Use this by checking off each item as it is complete.
