Introduction

Touring successfully requires more than just performing on stage. Behind every live show is a large amount of planning, communication, and coordination between artists, venues, crew, and promoters. A professional touring checklist helps ensure that every logistical and technical detail is considered before hitting the road. From booking venues and organising travel to confirming production requirements and managing merchandise, this checklist helps artists stay organised, avoid last-minute problems, and run their tour as smoothly and professionally as possible.

Checklist

Use this checklist to make sure you cover everything you need to think about:

Tour plan

From tour dates and routing, venue contracts, support acts, ticketing, travel, accommodation and budgets.

Team & roles

Who is involved, from the band to the crew, whether they are available, and their key contact details.

Production plan

Confirming production needs and backline availability, stage plot and input list, and plans around soundchecking.

Rehearsals

Confirm a rehearsal schedule and book a space, confirm what equipment you need and payments needed for rehearsal space and musicians, if applicable.

Marketing & promotion

Create your tour artwork, event pages and marketing assets, announcing dates, organising promotion and preparing to capture content at shows.

Merch

Create or commission your merch designs and order merch production, then pack it for the tour, along with preparing merch sellers if needed and systems for payment and tracking inventory.

Documents & show info

Confirming all essential details so you can prepare show day worksheets for each venue, artists and crew, so everything runs smoothly.
